    How many dissapointments?

I think that much of the written stuff about CMS's are not very informative. Sometimes the CMS-open source "market" can look as a struggle between gangs that like to win at any cost and any lie.

Isn't it also a little strange that two of the most mentioned CMS's are Drupal and Joomla which are to completly different approaches to manageing a website? ...not even really close or related competitors.

Look here, how many CMS's did you try before you really settled to use any of them at least for 12 months!?
