Do people still use forums?

There are a couple of forums that I regularly participate it, they are a great way of sharing ideas and tips as well as giving and receiving help.

 

there still lot of forum users like us . Maybe digital point may not that active. You may look for worrior forum or webhostingtalk forum. You can find out that they still lot of users around forum .
Why people still stay in forum because it do categories well and do maintain it from spam . If compare to facebook , it may not a good place to talk about serious or professional topic? while most people will take it as fun, jokes and entertainment.

Definitely it is a good idea to build forums but one most important thing that we should keep in mind is that about the quality of information published by the forum users.

 

I use a variety of forums everyday for personal and business reasons.

Forums such as DigitalPoint are valuable asset to everyone.

There is so much information that can be shared with users who are seeking information regarding a certain niche that can only be found on forums.

yes if people didn't uses forums digitalpoint would have been dead. There is something nice about forums thats why people uses forums to discuss about any topics they like on forums

 

Forums is the best way to go if you want to build a united community for a same interest. However if you plan on selling sites then I doubt that forums are the best way to go. Forums is hard to populate rather than the effort of adding up content on normal information websites/blogs.

Social networks has somewhat influenced the Forums. But forums are now using for taking backlinks and talk about more specific subjects than in social networks. I saw in several social networks, people are talking gossip and junk.
