Do you believe in IQ?

Hey peeps do you believe that IQ test really measures our intelligence? i got 100 score in IQ in some website... hehehe i forgot to get the source...

 

I usually get around 125, but i don't believe much in them...just do it to spend some time

 

IQ measure what it 'expects' from a person. If the test author doesn't diversify the test, it can be biased to some people's learning experiences.

One thing that is well know, IQ is not a measure of a person's potential for success, many successful business people will tell you, smart people go to college and followed assumed roles for high IQ people, doctors, lawyers, etc. But many average, and below average learn how to do the min and succeed, and then surround themselves with high-IQ people to further advance their success.

So aim for average (90-110), anything over 110 means you waste your time in books. This is coming from someone that typically does 125-135 on those IQ tests.

I think I only believe in them because I usually scored in the high 120s or low 130s in my most recent tests

EQ (emotional intelligence) is just as important as IQ - if you can read people and strike the right chords with them, you can succeed in life on that alone.

Tests are just tests tho, and intelligence is a really hard thing to measure. Book smarts, street smarts, IQ, emotional intelligence - they are all different and can all be used to your advantage. They can also all be tested and assigned scores in different ways. Some even measure intelligence on the numbers of dollars in their bank account- it's all just that... numbers.

IMO, if you are happy in life despite the challeneges you encounter, then you are smart in my book.

Yes! Plus add in that it's an average, a rolling-average. I once read that average American intelligence is actually declining. With society supporting those who cannot 'figure' how to use birth control, or take care of children, and those 'parents' being the most influencing factor in a child, we are over-populating the streets with stupid kids. Add in how public schools devalued any subject that could have been seen as 'male-dominated' like math and science, and added in touchy-feely subjects like over-taught art, how to have sex, and poetry, a further decline.

Today's below average IQ80 people will be tomorrow's IQ 140 geniuses.

 

I don't really. I usally get around 100 when I do it. But i've only done it a couple of times..

IQ tests don't measure all aspects of intelligence, so they are limited. However, they are accurate with what they do measure. I like taking IQ tests for fun, and my highest score was 148.

However, this test focused on one area, so I took multiple IQ tests and found my average, which is around 120, which is much more modest. I've been invited to join the International High IQ society, but I'm too cheap to pay the membership fee.

 

I have faith in it..but I'm not so sure I would trust a website that is trying to tell me my IQ..

 

I do it for fun. My highest was 138.

I like doing IQ tests just for fun. I've always been good with patterns, or seeing patterns in things, so I usually do well. I also passed the test for the International High IQ society, but don't want to pay for the membership.

 

Depend who , but most of the dp users are kinda smart

yeah, i think peeps in here are really smart... i got 100 so im just average... i made some quick research and i found out that 115 is above average IQ so im quite disappointed with myself... hehehe

 

The IQ test is heavily slanted towards certain types of questions. If you were to spend time brushing up your skills on those types of questions, you would sail through an IQ test with a high score. Similarly, if you have never encountered the types of question used in the IQ test, you are going to get a low score.

 

hahahaha. It really doesn't mean much. I just like math and analyzing things but I don't know how to make a website and I hardly know a thing about computers.
The real geniuses are the people in this forum that know the secrets of making money online. I want to be buddies with ya.

 

I always get 165 on IQ tests. But, I am too much of a clown for people to take it seriously.
