Am I the only one who clicks on people's ads when I visit sites? Knowing most of you here are webmasters...do you not even bother with it or do you click?

i had to edit this post since its getting taken out of context.

Can you visit my sites in my signature please? lol (I hope google reps are not around)

On a more serious note because i look at how adsense is being used on various sites, i tend to read the ads most of the time. I usually do click but only if im actually interested.

I tend to see adsense ads as normal text on a page, as long as it pertains to my interest, i'll click. I don't intentionally click on ads just to make the webmaster a few cents though

I rarely click on ads. I am pretty much "ad-blind" at this point. Hope you don't click ads solely to support webmasters ;)

I take it you don't like advertisers then as you are costing them money with no chance of a sale.

Andrea - you seem to be doing this somewhat innocently, but it's definitely a no-no and a violation of adsense TOS, even talking about it could be interpreted as a violation.

Lots of people in these forums use adwords, so while you look at it as "helping someone out" it is simultaneously hurting advertisers like myself and others in here.

In other words, definitely don't do it, especially when you have your sites in your sig.

You shouldnt click just to be clicking. People like me pay for that.

I click on ads if it is something I am interested in. :)

Besides, there's been plenty of cases when adsense accounts were banned for click fraud due to some friend(s) clicking on that publisher's ads just to help out.

I agree with most everyone else. I don't click unless I really am interested. In fact, usually I barely even look at them.

wow, I am glad I asked, I'm very new to the whole thing, so I really appreciate the info, and I'm gonna stop clicking for sake of clicking, didn't realize the big picture. In no way was I asking anyone to click on my ads or anything, all I was asking is if anyone does click on ads since everyone here has them on their own sites, or if they totally disregard them on sites. sorry if that came across otherwise. can we just delete this thread? i don't wanna be beat down like rodney king heh

whoever left me a neg rep for "This is theft if you are not interested. You can always type in url or do a Google search for phrase in the ad.."

i'm still learning, it was a question i needed to ask because i wanted to know an answer. i had no idea of the other side of it, and because i asked, i learned, and won't be doing it anymore. maybe i helped someone with the same issue, i apologize if i upset people.

Same with me. i Pretty much ignore them like banners unless im interested (they all say the same thing) but i never rearly thought about the big picture either.
