I used to sell tons of stuff on eBay.. I still have a bunch of Gen1 Transformers I need to list one day. Their listing fees really suck though, and coupled with the PayPal fees, it takes a big chunk out.

I generally don't list my concert tickets on there, as the fees (and the lower final prices) work against me, but I've thrown up a handful of tickets just to see how they'll do. For other stuff, I find Craigslist works best for me.

Fleabay isn't too bad, provided you know what you are looking for and read things thoroughly. Great place to find odd electronic components and stuff. I made over a $1K selling off rings to make chainmaille armor in just over a month (think I had a total of $40 invested in that project). Who would have thought there to be a market for such silly things?

Wendy hit it right on the nose. Major PITA. But it was a fun learning project.

I used to make them when I dabbled in making chain mail and weapons, would never want to do it full time though!

Craigslist is a popular classified ad site which was started by a guy named Craig when he first moved to San Francisco. Craigslist.org has since been partially acquired by Ebay, but they have yet to incorporate it.

I have bought from ebay before and I have sold one or two thing, but generally I do not use ebay for selling. Maybe if I knew some good reliable dropshippers because I do not like packaging/shipping anything. I'll rather provide a service than a product.

I got started on ebay selling my wedding dresses, but I got really sick of the fees and some of their rules. I would list individual styles and they would tell me that I had to list different sizes sepparately. It cost me nearly $4.00 to list one dress. There was no way I was listing the same dress 12 times so I could hit every size.

I like to buy from them but don't do much selling any more.

    FTEGal,

I get around that by having a store - list all of your sizes in the store seperately for like $0.03 each. Then link to your store from every auction listing your post. Then each auction listing becomes a doorway to your store and the tons of inventory you have there.

You can list as many auctions as you feel are appropriate to get found in the eBay searches, and not have to pay the $4 per just so you can say "I have other sizes"

Ebay is silly, but they are just trying to make money like the rest of the world is. Its a shame to lose that ready to buy, focused search traffic - leverage it instead.

I find eBay to be too much of a hassle.

Unless you have a reliable dropshipper or a contact in China - stick with your day job.
