    Hi,

Does any of you guys invest by buying stocks? If yes, where? what are your experiences? What are the bad things and the good things? Do you have any tips or particular site or companies to suggest?

You know what i mean, just tell everything (if you want to off course!);)

    Thanks,

    Nima

Good thing: Sky is the limit to make money. Bad thing: It's all very unrpedictable...once trapped into it and greed takes over, you won't even realize how much you have lots..it's addictive. And finally, One has to get into market to learn the market..may be you can initially try creating dummy portfolio and then keep finetuning your strategy. Net is a good place to start looking for Info.

I've heard many good things about scottrade.com($500 minimum) , some people say it's the best around, but i have not tried them yet. Ameritrade.com($2000 minimum) and sharebuilder.com (no minimum). I'm almost sure these are the best because i heard of them too often.

If you want to try, then try scottrade.com first!

I got many traders/brokers in my family. Two of my uncles have NSE and BSE (India) memberships respectively.

I have been trading stocks since 2001. I got an NCFM certification from NSE for both Stocks and Derivatives and was once a dealer with a large broking house.

Stock trading is not as simple as it looks. Let the markets be your teacher. She will surely take a "tuition fee" in the beginning but once you learn her lessons well, she will also reward you.

My favorite tip (the most common and most commonly neglected tip):

"Cut your losses short and let your profits run."

95% of all people lose money on the stock market....the expert analysts you see on TV in most cases never make money....
the odds of success are remote...
there are easier ways to make money

I dont know when it will happen but when it happens nanotech will be the next internet style revolution that will do this and i think it will make the internet pop look like nothing. If i was interested in the stock market i would be looking all over the net for nanostocks and get them before they start flying but i think u will have2 to 5 years before the next big bull market takes off. Another sector will be in the flatpanal displays such as the carbon nanotube display and oled. Oled is very intriguing because u will have tv flat panels that you can roll up like newspapers and take with you anywhere you go and they are really light weight
