No actually, I haven't! I plan to visit Hong Kong and Mainland China one day.

I grew up in Toronto and there's a large Chinese population so I always loved Chinese food and culture growing up so close to it. I even learned a little bit of Cantonese after high school because I worked in Chinatown selling produce and the customers didn't always speak English so I learned some Cantonese (and a little bit of Mandarin) so that I can converse with the customers and they seemed to really like that. :)

yea. Chinese people will feel intimate if other people can speak even just a little bit chinese. and i think everyone feels the same way when other people can speak ur own culture' language. u r always welcome to visit china and i believe u will find a lot of fun here.

We're talking about food here mate.

What I love the most among Chinese dishes is Schezwan – rice, noodles and sauce. I love it in both varieties, veg and non-veg. There's a famous dish called the 'Triple Schezwan' in which you get rice, noodles, sauce, omelet and Manchurian gravy all packed together. It's lovely. I have it almost every weekend. Sometimes, I buy it from food stalls on the street and sometimes from a Chinese restaurant. The quality and taste of food ordered from a restaurant is obviously much better but at the same time costly. (Well, you get what you pay for.;))
However, the Chinese food that we buy ready-made from food outlets is very different from the one prepared at home. There was a Chinese couple staying near my house last year. They had invited me several times for dinner at their place. The food they prepared at home tasted way different from the one I normally buy from a restaurant/stall. I was like, 'This is Schezwan?? Really?? :O' Anyway, I loved what they cooked. Sadly, they've moved now. :(

Eating chinese food is eating a lot of oil. Wouldn't do it every week, maybe once a month. I love dumplings.
