Do you make money from ebooks?

I know right now there are about a million ebook selling websites. Do you actually make money from them? Anybody can share their success story?

I think a large portion of those sites' success depends on their SEO and how they're promoted.

 

The webmasters making the ebooks are making the money!

 

I sell some ebooks (some I wrote and some I bought rights to) each time I do a mailing to one of my lists. I will usually have some solid information and give away a few freebies and then link to a 2 ebooks I'll sell. I find I get about 2 percent of people buying each mailing. I think as people get to know someone more they tend to buy.

 

I agree there are millions of ebook websites. I find it hard to choose a really good ebook...most dont make the grade IMO...

Still, ebooks were made for the web, although after a few months I think people start to share them with friends or sell them cheap and the value is gone...cos I see the same ebooks selling for $40 in some place and another place selling for $4

 

I've sold an ebook version of my book on replica watches since 2004. My main watch site actually started off as a support site for the ebook, but since has branched off into it's right, now making me more money than the actual ebook sales. I use payloadz.com to do my actual fulfillment. It's worked quite well with very little maintenance.

Still, the ebook sells decently every month, bringing in mid $xxx with little effort. I also sell a printed version through Lulu (http://www.lulu.com) that gets sales averaging low $xxx a month as well. Lulu brings you also lightingsource distribution, meaning Amazon.com sales/ISBN, for only $150.

So yes, ebooks can be profitable, but I think niche books are the best bet.

Make attractive sample page of your ebook that can arouse interest to people to buy and also make it available for offline customers.

 

eBooks does sell... only if your content are good... Likewise in most websites too..
