I just finished paying 100% of mine off. I have a few grand left to go on my car loan and I'm completely debt free.

    Shit, $15,000 is a lot.

You need to settle with them and pay them off ASAP.

Buy nothing else...eat cheap meals...live at home...but don't ruin your credit.

No, but I used to (had to fund my masters), it was great when the balance went to 0 :)
I'd recommend that you consolidate your debts with a bank loan, you'll save yourself a lot of money in the long run.

    wow...$15k...

Max I owed was about $2k... and that seemed like a huge debt I would never be able to pay. Of course I was then stuck at a lousy job where I was earning $400 a month.

And then I found the internet... :D

I don't owe anything, and I'm thankful. Statistics show the average American owes $8,000.00.

I don't mean to sound rude, but you've fell for the oldest trick in the book. You've allowed yourself to fall prey to massive debt. With the interest you will probably be charged, it will be difficult to ever get out. By the way, the average American makes roughly 30 grand, and you've just told me that you owe about half.

This is what the credit card companies and the FED want. They want to put Americans into debt up to their eyeballs, so they can be slaves to their finances.

Here is the plan to financially destroy America.

    1. Outsource jobs overseas.

    2. Weaken the value of the dollar, forcing the cost of living to go up.

    3. Americans can't go to school unless they go into debt, once they graduate, the jobs have been sent to India and China.

    4. Once recession hits, Americans will be forced to foreclose their homes and banks will begin calling in debts.

    5. The middle class will be destroyed.

    6. Once the economy crashes, the super wealthy elite will swoop in and buy American citizens goods for pennies on the dollars when the average American is forced to sell their house, cars, and other goods.

    7. In source migrant workers from third world nations(Like latin American countries) into the US to take jobs Americans don't want and further destabilize the country.

But don't worry. Millions of Americans today are in the same circumstances you're in right now, so you're not alone.

I have a friend and she was just getting ready to file for bankruptcy and she charge a shit load of cash. I know she charges jewelry, plasma TV and a huge trip to costco... in the end she racked up $35K in credit card debt.

Guys.... don't piss off a woman unless you get her credit cards first. :p

I heard a quote on TV to the effect that the average McDonals meal was costing between 4 and 5 dollars before they started accepting credit cards. It is now over 7. The jump was attributed to the ease in which you can overspend using plastic.

geez. That much credit card debt is crazy. The highest I ever had was $500 and that's when I was starting up my business. I'm never going into any debt ever again, that $500 kept me up at night back in those days.

That';s crazy...but doesn't surprise me one bit. And then when those people don't pay their bills, those meals will eventually end up costing over $10.00!

The primary reason for that is inflation. Remember back in the 1950s(I wasn't born yet) when you could buy a burger for like 15 cents?

Now you have to pay 7 bucks for a meal. Come one people, this isn't rocket science. The dollar is losing its purchasing power, because it is a paper currency. It takes more dollars to buy goods than it used to.

The FED prints the damn money. Then they turn around and loan it to our government for interest. Let me repeat that again:

"The FED prints money and then turns around and loans in to our government for interest"

Can you see why the country owes trillions? President Andrew Jackson destroyed the banks, and was the first president in American history to reduce the national debt to zero. That is why he is my favorite president.

I defaulted on my CC's when I was homeless for a while. Its funny how $1200 dollars I owed is now a 6500 dollar judgement on my record. 29.99% APR is honestly in my opinion Robbery.

That should piss you off enough to want to buy a firearm and fight our corrupt government. Every time I check my damn mail box I got a credit card offer I didn't ask for.

Yet the government passes "anti spam" laws, trying to go after people who send you unsolicited emails.

Give me a break! Why don't they go after the damn CC companies that keep calling me and sending junk mail to my traditional mail box?

Because the government works with the damn credit card companies, and they're all in bed with each other!!!!!!!!!!!

Credit card debt is nothing but a new form of slavery. Humans have enslaved each other for thousands of years. The difference between then and now is that today they mostly like to get you enslaved to debt.
