I prefer English forums because 1) It's my native language and 2) It's known to many people; therefore, larger amounts of people can interact.

I prefer websites in English only for the fact that is my native language. What I like more is websites that incorporate google translate so that if someone who does not speak English can just select their language.

It depends on what kind of website it is. For some websites I prefer English, but for other stuff I prefer Slovak language (my mother language).

I prefer English as I can easily render content in handheld devices and most IT content has no exact meaning in native language.

Why don't you make the site in English, and have an optional translator to the native language?

Well It depends on your goal or more specifically who will be your target customers. If your target customers are from USA then you have to keep it in English. However you also can keep your local language as option in your site.
