    For me combination of paid (PPC) advertising and free traffic worked the best. PPC gives you instant results while organic traffic builds up. Eventually it adds up, so you spend less on paid advertising.

    Hmmm, Paid traffic is the quickest and most effective source but if you do not have any initial investments then I would recommend building your online presence via social media and other social sharing websites.

    Is your shop within a specific niche?
    Are there either support or fanatic forums and communities specific to your niche?
    Can you provide any promotions to these fans on social media?
    Can you bundle a service with your sold items?
    Would local promotion work to get the ball rolling? Family / friends / leaflets in local community hall etc.

    I am in the same situation. What I do is I contribute in facebook groups, I simply physically hand out little flyers with my webpage when I am selling offline and very simple I have the link under my email. This did not bring great traffic so far, one reason is that I am very time limited. I hang out flyers at noticeboards too.
