Please share your experience. Is Myspace still effective in driving traffic to a website?

I think it's not nearly as effective as other methods simply because it's used by so much fewer people.

Yes, myspace is still operational for my purposes because it was the very first social network that I used and developed affinity to it. But nowadays digg (the original content very well indexed and quickly, but not comments), facebook, twitter, stumbleupon and reddit seem to be more effective.

That's a great question you have asked and I was just looking for this type of answer but no one tells in details,

I just Want to share some tips what I do, basically I run an software on auto polit and it works for me, not in massive way but it works, at least 2 or 3 sign up per week. So I think it is great.

You just Google it Myspace software and learn from it. Video training is also provided.

I hope this works for you.

Myspace sucks dont waste your time. If anything do twitter and maybe facebook. You should be focusing on seo and ppc and blogging more.

Myspace not being indexed by Google. That's intriguing. Let's check the facts here. It's 173 Million Total Number of Indexed Pages.

I am not using myspace and I don't see any reason to change. I think, their issue is, they were not able to adapt to the rapid change in how consumers/people like us interacts within the internet. Facebook has done a wonderful job on it, that's why they are the best right now.

But not being indexed by google is outrageous... it is being indexed by google bots... no question about that...

My Space is still good for certain demographics, 10-25 year olds and mostly for music. Most companies targeting adult demographics use Face Book now.
I have a My Space page for my music blog, but I really hate it for networking. I actually think it sucks and can't stand the user interface, it looks and behaves like it was coded by 13 year old girls back in 1997, and hasn't changed since.

I get more traffic from Face Book, and Twitter.

I would still think that facebook has done a remarkable job to atrack users of all demography. But I would agree on the music thing. Indeed, myspace is good for your music... i think it will eventually go in that direction. If they can focus on that, maybe they will once again rise to where facebook and tweeter is now. Just a reinvention of sort.

For some reason Myspace didn't work quite well for me. Compared to Myspace, Twitter and Facebook have been working really well.
