As more and more people are shopping online for better deals and convenience, I believe local retail stores will die out except Wal-Mart :D

i think the retail stores might not be die in the 10 years... ;) because there are too many differrent people and kind of needs and necessary comes in their lifes need some kinds of them. So, in the following 10years are still going on with the new update retails again.. except, the tax from government so high. Maybe people change their mind, i guess.. lol :D

People will prefer ordering movies, music, ebooks and video games digitally. DVD's will slowly become extinct just like old cassettes.

For all other physical stuff, retail stores will continue to exist.

PPL will always prefer to see many items in person. I thought the same thing, especially whenever I see music stores in malls (since you can buy online so easily), yet there are always shoppers in there.
I read an interesting article today though, where Amazon was offering a smartphone app that let you scan an item IN STORE, then Amazon would discount the same item from their online store if you bought it then.

Retail stores will never 'die out' for most products. However digital products like games, movies, and music stores I can't really see lasting much longer. Most people would rather see, and feel a product in person if it's something like clothes for example.

Haha. What is so 'idiotic' about this thread? Stop being such a troll. If you don't like the thread then just quit the page. Simple!

Shopping online is good for certain products, but it definitely won't replace retail shopping as we know it.

Yes, its not gonna die completely. As most of the people buy things which are cheaper via Online stores and the costly items via stores after checking it well.

I don't think regular shopping will ever die out completely, especially grocery shopping. I think a lot of stores will probably get a lot less business because of online shopping.

I don't think so. They are both needed in our life.

We can get items from retail stores instantly, but now online shopping websites like wallydeal.com are more and more popular. Real store and online store relatively complement to benefit us!

I think small retail stores will survive. There are many people out there who enjoy the hands-on shopping experience. They love to chat with store owners, pick up and examine merchandise and feel good about supporting local stores. I think that will continue.
