Do you use VoIP?

Looking at VoIP options - skype is the immediate choice, but we just saw FreeTalk released here in the UK which looks pretty reasonable.

Any recommendations, pro's and con's, of VoIP services?

I use Skype. The only factor pissing me off is the state of my Windows box at home which causes my USB handset to fail giving me a screen full of Skype errors and being unable to hear the other person. Fresh install should fix it though.

I haven't examined the latest features yet but I believe you get mailboxes with it now and you can even send texts.

It is indeed dirt cheap, especially Skype to Skype (doh!).

Don't know about any of the others...

I only use Vonage. We have 4 lines - 3 phone + 1 fax on the one cable modem. The only issue we had was an extra IP. Each phone adaptor (2 lines each) needs it own IP.

I works like a charm and compared to the regular land lines we had before our phone bill went from $200+ to $82 both including long distance.

I've just started with Skype and it seems very impressive. Skype out in NZ does suffer a bit from delay.

I use Lingo. Love it and see no need for a landline. :)

I sell commercial/ enterprise VoIP phone systems from Avaya...as a result have become reasonably knowledgeable w. the consumer products...

Skype is pretty good. Vonage is ok... Both work fine for personal usage...subpar for a company.

That looks good for residencial use. Probally a little light in terms of features for an office. For use with an office---I would connect it to normal phone system. That way---your business has considerable savings in terms of monthly bills and does not miss anything operationally.
