Does anyone like Improv

Does anyone like to watch improv?

I’m not talking about those bastardized shows like “Whose Line is it anyway?”, “Green Screen Show”, and “Wild 'N Out”.

    “A.S.S.S..S.C.A.T.” isn’t too bad.

I feel like improv is really mainly entertaining to the people doing it or the people that have done it before.

It just seems like people don’t have the patience for it or don’t really feel like going to shows.

Has anyone been to a live show and did you like it?

I like improv, but it's very hard to find, partly because it's very hard to do. I heard that the tapings for Whose Line is it Anyway? normally take hours to do, and there are tons of fuck ups. I couldn't imagine sitting through a shitty improv set like that waiting for something to click just so they can get it on tape.

Whose Line is it anyway? isn't even real improv. It's partially scripted improv games.

In improv you don't start over on things, you keep going. It's like a comedian messing up on a joke and having them edit that out. They keep it in the show and they just work it in and keep going.

I think one of the problems is improv is still on the fringes of entertainment. A lot of people just don't know much about it.

The really good improv and the stuff I enjoy doing and watching is what's called long form improv. It "normally" involves scenes that are like sketch comedy. You can think of good long form improv like if Saturday Night Live took all of their sketches on one show and then tied them in at the end of the show so they all related to each other at the end.

I'm sure there are a few improv groups in your area.

I've been to several improv shows and enjoy them. I'd go more often but I can't stand the second hand smoke from the bar atmosphere.

Yeah I agree with you on the smoke thing.

The bad part about improv, like anything else, is there are some really bad groups out there. I don't know if anyone has been to any bad shows or not, but it's brutal. I hate to leave too because it's rude. I've been to shows where everyone has left before.
