    Only bookmarking can't help you to get traffic. Main thing is how many bookmarks you can get in first 24 hours.
    Like if you submitted article on digg and got more than 80 votes in first 24 hrs then only it can reach homepage. Same with Delicious.
    so try to make network of people who can help you to get first starting votes.
    After that you can enjoy good amount of traffic.

    a backllink is all you will get most of the time, but that isnt all bad , particuliarly if you are building alinkwheel where every link is important.
