Does social media helps?

I have heard a lot about Facebook and Myspace. May be most of you are member over there. I am new in myspace but no idea from where to start. I heard it helps in promoting websites? Is it true? How many of you got the positive results from there?

I shall be grateful if you share your experiences and opinions. If you have the better social media resources, pls. let us know.

I tried to promote my site there months ago but sad to say that it doesn't work.

Social Sites are Best of the Best way to promote our site.
Now a days many more seo's including web research executives are also using social media sites for site promotion, i was working as Web Research Executive as 6 months ago, and i was for data collection, i was opening all bookmarking and i was collecting all profile details from different SB sites, like digg, stumbleupon and dell. but that time i did not know any thing about these types of sites.

now i got promotion in my company due to new project and my project is to add all those members in my company account, coz my company is going to launch personal social community, and i am part of "Community Marketing Team"

so i mean to say, Social Media Sites are very useful for Us.

Now a days it has become a trend to promote websites using major social media Sites.

People develop a video for their website and even youtube is spammed

 

Its depend on people over there if you can find right people than you will rock other wise your campaign will fail.

 

Any kind of method that makes your website more known to the world has to help no? How can't it?

 

I had posted very very few topics in orkut i still keep on getting few visitors from there

I am using social media sites. social media optimization is really very effective way to get visitors. but some sites does not give result as per expectation and some sites really work effectively. so we should go through proper sites to get better visitors.
