LOL @ the Reindeer thing... I was into rabbits when I was little and my mum did the same thing, it was in Littlewoods cafe, she told me it was beef or something, then later I found out it was rabbit.........

I've grown up now though - anything that moves and has protein is fair game!

Obviously killing other humans is bad though, and protected species are off the plate...

TDC works for me.... was just curious, spent most of my time on the other end of the country down in Taegu and Pusan. It was a fun couple of years, but don't know if I'd want to go back.

Eating it is one thing. Knowing you are eating it is another. I am sure I could throw down some dog, if I did not know that is what it was.

I wasn't in Korea in 1988 but from what I've been told it has changed quite a bit in the past 17 years. Aren't you curious what it's like now? If I could go back in time and visit in 1988 I think I would...

I have never wanted to go back, never been curious. I had to leave my youngest son, who was two months old. I missed his first year of life on that tour of duty.

I have no idea how much it has changed. For me, it was a very miserable time in my life having to be away from my family. I remember people saying it would rain (monsoon) for thirty days straight in June. I didn't believe it, until it really rained for thirty days straight. And then the summer heat with humidity. Downtown TDC...if you had a dollar, you had a friend with the locals. No dollar, no friend :)

A buddy and I used to go to Itewan on the weekends. Hotels were cheap, it was kinda cool to see all the shops. We always started off in the "Boston" club there. Dont' know if it's still there. That was back in the days of "Big Hair" rock!

You tell me. Have you eaten at a chinese restaraunt lately? If so, is likely you have eaten dog or cat.

Why is it if you are a cute animal you get a protest, a ban, etc but if you are ugly you get the chop.

I love the outrage at dog meat. Have another hot dog.

Actually I'm a vegetarian so I treat all meat equally regardless of how attractive it is. :)

Which I admire and thats the way it should be. I always laugh when I look at the attendees of a protest like this (not this one in particular since I wasn't there) and a lot of them are wearing leather shoes or other animal skin products.

I still wear leather shoes. I bought them before I became a vegetarian. Best not to waste them so I keep wearing them.

Lol I agree. Shame We don't think about the poor chicken or cow when we are tucking into our tasty McDonald's and KFC though, isn't it.

Ha ha -- I lost a repuation point for that post.

Meat is meat. It's silly to get all emotional about the animals we eat.

Eating cow is not ethically or morally superior to eating dog -- it's just a weird cultural bias.

I wouldn't worry about the neg...I have respect for those that eat no meat but to tuck into a juicy steak while condeming those cultures that eat dog is pretty rich in my view

That's kinda my view. I don't have a problem with them eating whatever meat they choose, i simply dont' want to eat dog.

My concern is that any animal that is raised and killed for food be treated in an acceptable manner, and should not be abused or mistreated.

Some meats were made to be eaten by the Creator and others were not, it is real simple, if anyone is interested those laws are in the old testament and have never changed even if your preacher told you that they did
