Domain and Hosting companies

There are 10x companies giving these services...I wonder whats the deal behind it?Doesnt look like there is loads of money in that..or is there?

 

Its because it can be a low investment venture. There are pretty much zero barriers and it costs only about $20/month (reseller account) to get started.

 

This is regarding domain names-How much does a .com actually cost them?

 

You can register the .com at many sites (godaddy.com for example) for less than $8.

Well, Im not to sure how much it costs godaddy, but I know you can get reseller accounts for domains under $7 for free.

 

i own a compnay offering these services, its such a saturated market.

Most domain reseller accounts are $6.95-$7.95/.com

GoDaddy is selling purely on volume and upsells. I'd be surprised if they actually earned 25cents/year on each domain sold.

 

Well considering some companies can offer domains for $6.50, Im going to guess godaddy makes $1-$1.50 per domain. Now mind you, they spend a LOT on marketing, development, etc

 

There is much money to be made selling web hosting. Even though the market is so saturated as it is now, many of the hosts are noobs on reseller accounts with no clue & just trying to make a quick buck.

 

I've a reseller domain account, so .com domains costs me $6.99 + $0.25... The lowest price would be $6.49 + $0.25.... So, there is no big bucks here. I earn money through selling a web hosting on a powerfull dedicated server (not reseller ).

 

As i said its a saturated market but there is still money to be made if you offer a good service at a good price Like anything really.
