Domain/hosting question

    Noob alert…noob alert!

I want to create multiple sites, using different domain names. Do I have to pay a separate monthly fee for all my different domains? Can I use my one host plan for multiple domains? Each site really won’t take up much space, and I’d hate to have to pay a separate monthly fee for every domain name I register.

I use http://www.ehostpros.com to host some of my sites... all under the same account/plan. :)

    Good service, reliable. VERY affordable.

    Good luck,
    Mike

P.S. "Add-on domains" are only $5 - something like that.

Many hosts offer unlimited domain hosting. Of course, bandwidth is another issue. ;) Example: ASO.

What about having multiple subdomains instead of domains?
I think it could get some advantages under a seo/serp point of view too.
There are very cheap web hosting companis that allow you to have unlimited subdomains for as low as 5-7$ / month

Normally for the add-on domains, or any additional domains, you probably should be able to register them where ever, then have them point to your host. At least that is probably a very common way of doing it, and I personally like that method.

    TRUE.

Even your "main" domain can be regd anywhere.

Bottom line = you DO NOT have to reg your domain(s) at ehostpros to
    use their multiple domain hosting.

    Good luck,
    Mike

The only reason why I say there could be an issue, is one that that might not make them a good host is if they require a certain domain of yours to be regd with them.

    Agreed.

A "good host" shouldn't necessarily "tie the 2 together."
Although a "smart host" might. ;)

I have a similar message on another thread, but I'm pretty new to this and what I am doing with my site is adding an archive page. I also want to organize my links as I will be adding several this weekend. Is sub-domains the only way to do this?? Godaddy only allows 10 subdomains, and I've already used 6 of them.... So.. I guess my site could be no larger than 11 pages.... right?? If this is the case... how can I get more subdomains without messing with my current hosting??

Only one page per domain or subdomain? Couldn't you have many pages per domain or subdomain?

Well, I am assuming you would be able to FTP to your webspace. With that you would probably copy multiple files into the FTP space, then it would be in your webspace I am assuming.

Does that make sense? If you need further help, feel free to ask.

Okay, you have index.html that is referenced to domain.com and then software/index.html that is referenced to software.domain.com, which uses a subdomain right there. What I am suggesting is that instead of having a file of sofware/index.html just have a file of software.html in the same directory as the other index.html file. Then instead of domain.com and software.domain.com you would have domain.com and domain.com/software.html
