I'm not defending anyone or anything, but no one will do that, since selling bulletins is not exactly matching myspace TOS, they can get banned for that. No one will give you the profile they use.

Would you still say its worth paying for if you are certain the myspace users will love your site?

I have to say I have bought a number of bulletins, and I have had good results and bad results.

    Note:

    1. No AdSense was on the site during this time. (or for a period before and after it)
    2. No I won't divulge the the actual amount earned, but I will say that the earnings from this advertiser easily covers the cost of my dedicated servers during a normal month.

As far as getting visitors, it really depends on the bulletin content and subject line.

"yo dude chek out theze myspaace lyts" will probably work, while "Hello sir, I offer a multitude of web design packages starting at only $500. Please visit my site to learn more" will not.

I plan to blog about this sometime after some more testing :)

Definately...the subject and content make a huge difference...

People should also be aware that MySpace can and do ban URL's from appearing when they decide it's being used to in bulletin advertising.

You need the right site, to get the right kind of traffic. Bulletin services can be great providing you use it wisely.

I tried one and only one just to see what happens. I got zip... zero, notta... in return.

What's more, when I saw the actual bulletin, it was amongst the dozen others sold by the same person. I immediately saw how annoying that could be for the receivers. I will never do it again.

    Good goin fryman

I'm a legit bulletin seller, i helped phree_radical win the linkexperiment contest with my myspace. But after seeing that they could ban me for selling bulletins, i have decided to quit or at least be more cautious. I don't see the point in phising. I started my account on myspace just over a year ago, and with the help of whore trains have gained over 23,000 friends. It's not that hard to make friends on there when you actually talk to them. Plus i didn't even plan on using my account for whoring and i havnt whored anyone. It's sole purpose is for me to spread my music once i record it. For now it's just for leisure and posting my lyrics on. It's a shame people steal what isnt theres just for a few dollars. I can go to walmart and find more than that in change in the parking lot.

I'm trying to understand why you think providing generic, inaccurate information that has been proven to be wrong is helpful?

    1. All bulletin sellers have been lumped together as scam artists, this is clearly not true.
    2. It's a waste of money.

Looking at the graphs I posted earlier clearly shows that it works.

Not all of them are scammers or use phished accounts.

The whole ethicial/legal/whatever issue of sending bulletins on a commercial basis is another can of worms, but clearly bulletins do work - if you buy from the right seller.

Adsense doesn't like myspace bulletin traffic anyways (contrary to what some people think - that it's an adsense gold mine). They say no unsolicited emails, which is what myspace bulletins are (I got confirmation from from Adsense). Even if you get good traffic, it will virtually all die away in a day or two anyways.

    It's simple really,

What your after is people who will become a regular visitor to your site. It's better to look at bulletining as a cost of aquiring visitors. Say I spend $100 on bulletins, and say I got 200 regular visitors to my site, that means the cost to aquire each visitor is $.50

Will I make that $.50 the first time they show up, probably not, but over a period of time I probably willl, and because of the viral nature of MySpace Resource Sites from that regular visitor I could easily get another 10,20, or 50 people visiting my site, which in turn means more $$ for me.

Sure I don't have to spend the $$, I could use other methods, but it is a great way to quicklty jumpstart a site. (just don't do it with an AdSense based site)

so it was ok the other day to do it, but because what of the result you got it's now spam?

Ever heard the phrase you get what you pay for?

In the past when I have used bulletin services I have not gone after the cheapest deal, to make money the cheap people have to send lots of bulletins or it's not worth it.

I have gone for the expensive limited run kind of deals, these guys don't send lots of bulletins, and as a result the users actually look at what they do send.

Is a bulletin spam? I'm not fully decided on this one, it's definately opt in (and out at anytime) by the user.
