Don't worry about rebuilding after Katrina

To those who post about how they are going to rebuild after this, don't worry about it. The plans are well advanced on building a new Las Vegas style city in New Orleans.
I do not like to make money out of other people misery but if you don't mind and like to make some easy money then start buying real estate in New Orleans.

 

I'm trying to understand how someone who once called Americans "ignorant" and spends most of their posting time knocking America (especially since the hurricane came through) would care one way or another?

But now that you have laid before us, your magical wisdom, I feel so much better in knowing you are on top of things and there is nothing to worry about

I think everybody here knows about your BS and many have told you to come with proof or shut up but I see that you still continue with this. It is OK by me, acting STUPID is your democratic right and I respect it.
There is nothing magical about what posted, I was approached to invest in that project which I have turned down, look around and you will see the signs of what is going to happen.

 

I say forget it all and leave to aligators and crocs. Let the Air Force use it for a bombing range as they have had to move out of so many others latly. It would be the cheapest way to flatten everything.

 

One only needs to look at virtually every post you start to see it. But, that is what you do.

I hate to say it, but I agree. They will bulldoze the place after condeming it and use emminent domain to move the casions inland. The first three levels will be disposable to be cleaned up easily after a flood and the tops will be hurricane resistant. It will be done with huge tax incentives as well.

 

Casinos turn the quality of property to shit. Trust me, I have spent the last 10 years in Nevada. The downtown areas here in Reno are loaded with homeless people. Many locals live from paycheck to paycheck because they gamble it all away.

I really cant see how making gambling on land legal would be beneficial in the long run. The city is still sinking. The city still has one of the highest crime rates and much more needs to be done than just add a bunch of casinos. Casinos will not attract homebuyers alone you know. Las Vegas and Reno are booming but only because of our preferable weather. We have no real threat of disasters. New Orleans still does.

It can be rebuilt, but thinking you will get wealthy from buying property there is just completely off balanced.

 

None of the folks that live there will be able to afford to go back. No insurance will cover the loss. Those that move back will not be able to afford insurance if they have enough to rebuild.

The property is shit. Literally, that's the whole point. :/

 

It seems you just have to post about things that you know nothing about. When I mention real estate I didn't mean that you should go and buy a small lot for 2 bedroom house in low cost housing area. This post was for the kind of people that have a reasonable amount of money to invest and will buy today for 3-5 years range investment and not to live there.

 

It's pretty simple, really. Fix the levees and instal more pumps. Then, rebuild the city and hope like hell a similar event doesn't happen again.

 

It seems you like to use that sentence a lot.

I have money to invest and would never spend it there.

Good for you. I don't invest there either because I don't like to make money by using people misery but some people don't mind and from investment point of view it makes sense and will be very profitable.
