Drop Shipping businesses, anyone have one, are the worthwhile?

    Hi,

I am just about to get married and my fiance and I will be moving in together. She is moving a long way and will need to leave her job. Whilst she looks after our young son at home, she will need some work or source of income.

I was thinking of starting up a drop shipping business for her to sell things online and if it takes off move into a more full time business

Wondering if anyone can offer any advice, whether these are worthwhile and what are the best products to sell.

    Cheers
    Dan

I have a list of dropshippers on my blog. I just recently bought a membership to world wide brands. They have the best list of dropshippers that you can come by.

My most profitable website has helped me put a down payment on my house and has really helped supliment my income. I use a drop shipper for that site. My wife stays at home. It would be really tight if it wasn't for my business.

The best kind of product to sell is something niche that everyone and their brother isn't already selling.

I am very interested in this too. I have always wanted to start selling items online, but never could get a decent dropship provider...

I was going to sign up for some of the dropship research companies and use theirs but want to make sure it is a worthy small business for my fiance.

Essentialyl I am only looking for her to be occupied and to make a few extra dollars here and there to help with the finances

Cool Cool. Nothing like a stay-at-home working mother!! :) I have yet to decide If i would actually enjoy that style of business or not. Who knows... I think I just don't have the business sense for that type of activity yet. I can wheel and deel in person, but when it comes to the internet, its a whole new game.

It is just more that I want her to feel like she is contributing to the finances and is doing something rather than just sitting at home looking after our son and the house.

I dont mind if she makes no money just that she feels important

Yeah, I hear you on that one!

It is the way it sort-of-works with my girlfriend. I feel like I need to be the provider and the hole datadatada thing; you know? hehe. She works as well of course, but I realize how depressed (not to mention bored) I would be if she was the provider. That would just seem so... weird... (sorry for taking this off on a tangent).

That is ok it is kind of good to know that I am on the right track anyway.

Marriage will be, well weird for me. I was a bit of a player until I met this one, she comes from a very rough area of Sydney "The western suburbs" and I come from one of the most upmarket and rich suburbs of Sydney, so the whole thing is weird. I will also be adopting her 2 year old son as well...so so wierd.

Anyways. If we go down this track of starting a dropshipping company I will keep you up to date on how it goes for us

My wife stays occupied enough taking care of our baby. My business sometimes frustrates her because when our boy is finally sleeping instead of cleaning and doing the things she needs to do she has to take care of my business. Raising kids is a lot of work.

I think the one thing that keeps my wife doing it is the fact that it is making money. :)

When finding a dropship company make sure you research. I have heard some horrible stories about different companies overseas. I sold clothing on ebay for years and purchased from many wholesale companies. Some good, a lot bad. Many places promise one thing and deliver another.

Don't purchase any of the lists on eBay as most are old, outdated or everyone has that source already. You won't make money if everyone has the same source. Be prepared to lose money as there are plenty of duds out there. ALthough, once you strike it rich with one, they are like gold.
