    Had to laugh watching the Olympics. It's the gold medal race in snowboarding. (Head to head - only 2 people). The American girl has a huge lead just yards short of the finish. There is one last jump and she wins gold but....


    She shows off, does a toe grab and some twist or something, falls and the other girls goes by her and wins gold.

    That'll teach her.

    she said later on that when you grab the board its to try and get back to the ground more quickly, cuz you lose speed in the air. I dunno if she is just covering up for a major bungle or what, though.

    Rome just said that she went "Leon Lett" -- poor Leon. He'll never live down 2 plays - one against the Bears (or was it miami, I forget) , and the superbowl where he showboated on the way to a touchdown and got caught by Beebe on a great hustle play that didn't matter in the scheme of things.

    Yes if you grab the front of the board and pull up you can make yourself drop down in the back faster but what would have been more appropriate at that moment would have been to point the front of the board down and let her weight push her down but hind sight from an armchair snowboarder is pointless.

    She didn't need to go faster, she was so far ahead and she also did a 1/2 twist which would have slowed her down even more. She was show-boating and it cost her big time.
