E-Commerce Industry Ratios

Discussion in 'General Business' started by rfmerry, Apr 9, 2007.

I am writing a business plan for a school project and one of the sections in the plan is financial ratios. My business idea is an information portal so I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find industry ratios for e-businesses, particularly those that earn a large portion of their revenue through advertising. Thanks in advance.

I tried looking around but I don't think financial ratios are going to show up in academic papers. Is there an organisation in the US that collects data and produces financial ratios for industries?

Even though having a website that relies on advertising revenue is a legitimate business model, most statistics seem to focus on the retail side of the Internet which I am not interested in.
