I've tried a few different solutions in my time and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Volusion. If so, can you provide in detail if it has worked for you?

Also, if you can please compare it to any of the following solutions:
    OsCommerce
    Goecart
    Core Commerce
    Yahoo! Small Business

    Thanks in advance!

It is enterprise level stuff and vastly superior to what you have listed. You can however use this http://www.magentocommerce.com/ which is likely just as robust but free and open source.

    hope that helps,

having to pay a monthly fee, volusion can get quite expensive.

OsCommerce - simple, but need to customize a lot
Yahoo! Small Business - less control of designing the look and feel
magento - a lot of add ons, but too slow for a viable solution. i have yet to see a magento site that loads faster than 10 secs on ping tests

Magento is pretty great if you have a good server (ie not shared)
I run mine on media temple (dv) and its fast enough

I have been using Volusion for my store for almost 2 years now and I have nothing but good things to say about the service.
Good support, affordable pricing options and I haven't had any problems since I started.
I deal with the sales of electronics and services just so you know.
I did my research before starting and at the time it seemed like the best solution to go with.
    Hope this helps
    good luck!

Well, yesterday happen something, that changing my opinion about Volusion. From 11am till 5 pm, volusion websites were not ON. I lost a quite amount of money. When i called volusion, they did not has any explanation what happen, who will be responsible for my losses , etc.

When i ask to get me superviser, or vice , or anyone higher rank in the company. the asnwer was: they will contact you. Which never happen.

Seems, that Volusion are very small shop based on what happen.

It is not acceptable, that this king of company , which dealing with E commerce, don't have second server to prevent issues like that.

i was very unhappy with them, by the way, it happen 3 times this year. and i think, that it's just not for me anymore.

i am looknig for better platform.

Magento really seems to be the way to go if you're running a small-mid level store on the web. I'll save volusion for a time when I want to open a mega store.

I thank you all for your input
