Normally I'd be all "Oh that was at the other end of the country" and the bloody thing was yet it still woke me up at midnight, had the windows rattling and the pool sloshing water around like it wanted to create it's own little tsunami. Literally took 5 minutes for the sound of the sloshing to die down.

Some of the quakes were quite close (we didn't feel any others, phew) - too many overnight for the close ones to even show on the map so some people will have had a long and sleepless night. 2 families are mourning loved ones and there are reports of damage to property, roads etc. We had tsunami reports, it was all on in some parts of the country, and sadly the scum of the world were up and taking advantage of people fleeing their homes.

This graph is so teeny but if you look really closely you can see that the count has gone through the roof. Interesting that the last few months seem to have been busier - the public have been oblivious but I bet the scientists have been all over it.

Glad you, your family are safe.

Just looking at the map I can't help but notice a straight line that goes right through the country. Could be a tectonic shift of some sort. Either way, hope it's over.

Looks like a straight line but it's several different fault lines apparently. We've got lots of plates joining in our little country.
