    Most casualties are of people living in highrise buidings, which werent built to withstand such earthquakes or poor people living in stone houses, which collapse at the slightest tremor.

    This one doesnt seem to have caused as much as damage as those earlier in Bhuj and Latur.

    very true but earthquake is an earthquake whether its on big scale or small scale. Everyone's life is precious. 8 people dead in Jammu and kashmir, around 400 houses damaged there.

    I am just saying the comparitively this one has caused much less damage.

    Death toll of Bhuj earthquake was 20000 with 150000+ injured, 350000 homes destroyed and 600000 left homeless.

    For Latur the death toll was 10000 and 30000+ injured.

    (Different sources have different estimates)

    yes it was shocking i was sitting on chair and my chair star shacking and water in the glasses start viberating. we were at third floor at that time and came down quickly.
