i'm receiving hundreds of those EBay/PayPal/2checkout scam emails.. where they ask you to "confirm" your credit card information.

We are not falling for that, but there are more unexperienced users out there than you can count.. so I was just thinking, how can such scams still work?

I mean, they provide an URL for you to go and fill the form.. so why don't the companies (EBay/PayPal/2checkout) take this sites down? is it that hard?

I believe they move around... Send out all the spam and then move within the next few days to the new website or run only to be replaced by more scammers.

I usually go to that page and enter random data...

The real scam is when an ebayer buys some of your stuff with paypal..files a non delivery report and presto free goods within 10 days! And you can't do anything about it since most people don't send by FBI/CIA/NSA/registered, insured class mail. Not even the president... Even if you have a 'no refund' policy paypal will still issue a refund.

you know...paypal itself is a scam. they don't do as rigorious background checks as a real bank..because it's not a real bank. if your money disappears one day, the most you can do is sit on your hands and scream
