    Hi All!

I have a big whole in my head about the best selling ecommerce software. So start this topic to share some ideas and run a discussion.

So what is all about -

I'm doing online business for 10 years. Since that I tried a lot of eCommerce software like OsCommerce, Miva.... etc. Also I did a lot of custom soft.

But the market are changing very fast and what was good a year ago is not good today.

So lets talk not about some brands soft. But in general what is good for selling. because I like interested only in ONE THING. I want sell more. I want increase my conversion rate.

For example. On a few of my sites I run a simple shopping cart - without registration. It's only one step and you a finished with your purchase on the other - I have a 3 step shopping cart with registration.

The interesting thing is that all of the carts are unstable with the conversion rate.

So it possible with the same amount of traff to have 3 sales and the same day other week - 10 sales. It's strange. 20 times I check all the Ajax, all the javascript - it's ok in all browsers. But still convert are changing from day to day.

The cart is the best way it should - it have a picture of product bought, Shipping price info... all the rest...

    Any ideas about that?

What is the best site and shopping cart structure in your opinion?

    P.S. Please don't give stupid advices ))))

Have you looked at the traffic sources on days where conversion is good compared to when it is bad? Doesn't really sound like a shopping cart problem, unless you have some stats to confirm that people are adding products to the cart and then aborting the purchase before completing the checkout process?

daily/weekly conversion is never consistent , bro.
I have almost driven myself crazy to find justifications for coupl eof dry spells.
Now I accept it as it is as long as the monthly conversion hits a certain point

I think the smaller the number of conversions per day the less stable it seems.

My personal observation is that in the past I had 20 - 30 a day on average and when i recently "upgraded" my cart the numbers dropoed and have stayed a below 20 most of the time.

    Cart makes a huge difference.

I agree that the checkout process organization is indeed very important. For example, after we have implemented a one-step checkout feature in CS-Cart, we've received some testimonials mentioning an increase in conversion.

By the way, since the topic has been started quite long ago - could you please share your final decision (if any) with us?
