English name or my real name?

Discussion in 'General Business' started by Mirodenia, Apr 20, 2011.

    Hi,

I follow exactly the advices I receive on this site, thanks to everybody.
My real name is not an English name and in order to start a blog I wonder if my name will be less interesting for USA readers than an English nickname. What do you think? Maybe they will reject my blog because of my foreign real name. Did anyone experience this?
    Thank you!

It depend if your real name sounds catchy. What's your real name and what's the English name that you'll be using?

I would use your real name, or at minimum, your initials.

Using a made up English name is quite common, especially if you have something to hide. Choose something 'vanilla', such as 'Joe Russell' or some such.

the quality is more important, if you can make the best or provide the best, people will like to deal with you, they dont care about your name. People success not because of their name but their ability

I do not have problems hiding my real name or something. I asked if it is more apealing an English name than for example my name on this forum: mirodenia.

I completely agree, a name will not make any difference if you have the ability.

Using your real name is fine. People only tend to have a problem if they can't pronounce it but in this case, that won't really matter. Be different - if someone doesn't buy from you or accept you because of your name, then you don't need that type of person's business anyway and they don't deserve your help.

Use your real name. Don't hide who you are. I get put off by a supplier who uses the name "John" or "Dave" and their grammar makes it obvious that they are Indian or some other nationality where those names would not be common. Be honest.

Honest is the main thing in doing business. You shouldn't be ashamed with your name that your parents gave you. If the stuff @ service you are offering is top notch. then you don't have to worry about what your name is like, its origin etc.
If a person does not want to do business with your just because of your name - he is a racist, religion psycho, scorning on your country etc then you would be better to offer your trade to someone else.
