Ever have site problems because of changing an ad color?

Here's an interesting problem that I can't for the life of me figure out...probably because I'm not the best programmer in the world. Have any of you run across this before?

The basic scenario is that I have a blog style page using WordPress with a template that I've modified from one I downloaded off the internet. It's right here if you want to take a look:

    www.my-first-home.info

Right from the beginning I've always included 720x90 leaderboards using the "steely gaze" color scheme in the header and footer and everything has worked fine.

Yesterday I decided that in order to blend the ads in a bit more I would turn the grey border white to hide it against my background (leaving the text/title/URL colors black). All of a sudden my links started behaving very badly in Internet Explorer. Maybe 1 out of every 5 clicks on a link (not on an ad...on a link directing the user to somewhere else within my site) resulted in a redirect to "http:///" which of course comes up as a "page not found error". A friend using firefox did not experience this problem (although my pulldown menus don't work in firefox, which is another unrelated story), but my site basically became unusable in IE.

So...I've switched my ads back to the default "Steely Gaze" and everything seems to work fine again.

Has anyone ever experienced this kind of problem before? I'd love to blend my ads into my site a little better...but if it comes at the cost of somehow disrupting the useability of my site I guess I'll stick with the old default "Steely Gaze"!

Did you do everything using Google's ad code builder or did you handle it yourself? If you did it yourself, it's possible that you removed quotes or something and unbalanced everything.
