Expired vs aged domain

Hi all, so I have two domain names presented before me for an old niche I wish to pursue again.

    Option one:
Expired domain re-registered in 2018 still has an established back link profile according to Moz (all related to the type of content I will provide)
    Cheaper than option 2

    Option two:
Domain aged since 2004, no back link profile

    Curious what you all think

I think old aged domain will be better, but check for penalty or any bad reputation.

If the backlinks for the first domain are strong - I would go with the option 1.

I would choose domain which mostly reflect your niche and well remembered.
Back link profile is also important.

You have to be aware about penalty information. Remember, though backlink profile is strong, but the domain got serious penalty, then that will not worth you.
