    it is used to customized something on the web at your own satisfactions. Like google toolbar addition of buttons etc.

    This is probably not the right forum... But Google e.g. has an API for using their search engine through SOAP/WSDL... Unfortunately search queries are capped and the API can not be used by people (directly or indirectly) for any commercial usage :(
