That's what (allmost) everyone wants to know.

Unfortunately Al qaida is undermining our democratic system and uses basic human rights and democeratic systems for its purposes while at the same time they are mingling together with international crime syndicates, whereas the sadest thing to say is that they have most likely support from locals in various countries.

This seems to be their message:

The heroic mujahidin have carried out a blessed raid in London.

Britain is now burning with fear, terror and panic in its northern, southern, eastern, and western quarters In the name of God, the merciful, the compassionate, may peace be upon the cheerful one and the dauntless fighter, Prophet Muhammad, God's peace be upon him.

O nation of Islam and nation of Arabism: Rejoice for it is time to take revenge from the British Zionist Crusader Government in retaliation for the massacres Britain is committing in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The heroic mujahidin have carried out a blessed raid in London. Britain is now burning with fear, terror, and panic in its northern, southern, eastern, and western quarters.

My thoughts are with all of you who have London ties. Just learned the brother-in-law of my niece may be in London. It is a small world.

The sad thing is this puts all the good work from Live8 in the shade because the very hot potato of world debt will most likely be off the agenda completely at the G8 meetings now, convenient.

what the f*ck is going on? I would have thought with all the terrorists vowing to destroy the countires that have troops in iraq/afganistan I would have hoped the government knew atleast something before hand to prevent this

As sad and useless as it is and yes it is in the news but having worked in central London during the 80's when at times there was a daily incident by the IRA it'll make Londoners and the UK even more resilliant.

I have friends working in the city and all of them know that I will simply pick them up if needed from wherever they may "strand" tonight.
So as far as I am and they are concerned it just pulls people closer together which is probably not the intention of this....

I've read reports that Scotland Yard did have warnings in.

But then again, what are you going to do. We've been alerted so many times and nothing happened. And if they did tell us about the warning, you can;t really stay home till it happens.

But they could have silently ramped up the Underground security I guess.

use e-mail works fine on mobile they obviously reserve large capacity for emergency services and transmitters may shut down to clear/seal suspected areas

I agree...Where are you getting that from? You may want to clarify as that can be taken a few different ways.
