Facebook is a trap for non internet savvy users. Don't forget that most internet user don't even know how to delete their cookies... Do you really expect them to know about profile privacy settings?
On top of that... let's imagine that users actually manage their profile settings outstandingly... what about Facebook T&C? It's written expressly that every single thing that you upload to their servers becomes Facebook's property! They can even make ads with your status!
So... sadly...no, no privacy at all, even knowing how to set your account's options properly.

Do not post the things that you wish to keep the privacy, as easy as that. When come to cyberspace, privacy is not private anymore.

it depends on how much info you want to share to your friends or to those whom you added as friends so, by this truth we can say FB has privacy.

Just don't give facebook all your information?

    Its just common sense right?

They can only work off of what they get from you.

The whole point of having a facebook account it to be social so privacy should really be an issue. We have control over who is or is not connected to us so to me that is good enough.

Facebook steadily has decreased the amount of privacy you have over time and they keep coming out with new clever ways to reduce it even more. They do this because it increases their bottom line through ad-vertising. It is purposely more difficult than it needs to be to change privacy settings for this reason. Check it:

Here's Zuckerberg acting like a pussy who can't answer simple questions about privacy. This is because he can't figure out a way to say "your stuff really isn't that private" and make it sound politically correct. Funny how the owner of the biggest social networking site can be socially awkward sometimes.

The whole point of any of us having a website is our bottom line so its hard for me to hate on them for wanting to make some cash.

That is not true that you said on your thread. Facebook has a lot of privacy otherwise they can not grow up dramatically.

Yeah I have experienced the same thing and that's what I hate in FB it's really annoying but apart
from it I really like Facebook. I can do anything on it, it's not just a stress reliever but also I can
    share my things on it.

you can actually share which post to show and which not to show, to who and not to who. I say, it's quite good.

Don't bother posting anything on it. Anything you need to share can be done in person or over the phone.
