I have noticed that I tend to get more followers on Twitter without doing anything. They just sort of roll-in everyday. Whereas on Facebook I have to do more work to attract friends / likes.

Both are similar social networking platforms but Facebook is the better platform to gain bulk traffic for your webpage or domains. Twitter is basically going a job for a twit and discuss on the topic. Presently the demand of social platform is going high by the facebook or maximum users on across the world are using this social platform so now we can trust that it is the best to get a good traffic.

According to the findings, Facebook drives the most traffic compared to Twitter and LinkedIn, but Twitter generates the most leads.

In fact, Twitter achieves a higher conversion rate (2.17%) than the average for all channels combined (1.6%) including organic and paid search. In comparison, LinkedIn and Facebook achieve conversion rates of 0.8% and 0.74% respectively.

Twitter can make your content go viral worldwide a bit faster I think. I've done some social media work for a few clients and have seen this happen first hand.

i had the best success with my twitter, but facebook is helpful too. you should advertise on facebook to gain some recognition and do little free contests to gain customers or clients.

Don't choose one over the other. Make use of both platforms as they cater to different types of people. For those who enjoy a light slimline status update, Twitter is great. Facebook is bulky with apps and games on top of their messaging system and attracts a different audience for that sole purpose. Choosing one over the other and you will be missing out on traffic.

It also depends on how you use the two. Are you posting images? Links to website articles? Sharing a video or music? They both have these features but display them in different ways and users will choose what they prefer. I know a lot of people who enjoy using Twitter and hate Facebook. Vice-versa as well. So, really I don't see a winner in this game. You have to cater to both and get your message out to your audience by going to them. And if that means posting on both platforms, than so be it. Just do it.

Well, if the matter relates to driving maximum traffic and target audience, Facebook obviously serves as the best platform and works wonder.

IMO it depends on your target: geolocation, ages, etc.

It is hard to get the traffic in social media. But if you get the attention of all the users, maybe there's a possibility. But at first I think you should be aware that all your friend in social media must know you first so that they can easily follow you.

Facebook is best for your personal use like if want to stay connected with your friend and can help you to generate traffic, but if you want quality in your traffic than I suggest Twitter to you Twitter can give you more professional persons.

I have always believed that if we talk only about profiles than twitter will drive more traffic...but when it comes to fb pages vs twitter than FB pages drive more traffic..
overall i would say Facbook is the right answer.

In my case it is a simple matter of numbers. 21k twitter followers vs >300 facebook. Which do you think gets me more traffic? Everything I post goes on twitter and facebook is just reserved for what I determine to be featured articles. I really consider it to be secondary.

Facebook has a larger potential audience, but those eyes aren't seeing your content unless they like your page. There is still no accurate way to search facebook and to find posts made on pages that you may not subscribe to. A search on twitter, on the other hand, will get your post in front of people whether they follow you or not, which could lead to new followers.
