FaceBook & Twitter for forum promotion???

Has anyone done this successfully? I'm using both and increasing their profile very VERY slowly at the moment. I think I have 10 likes for one forum,and 15 or so followers on Twitter, pretty much no action really. Is anyone promoting a forum successfully using Twitter?

Yeah but my point is, who is doing it well. From what I can see I've put a good few hours in and have very little to show for it. Next to 0 traffic as well.

 

if you want to promote forum through social network then i suggest you to create facebook fan page.increase fans numbers. then you will see some results.

Twitter is a very useful medium. You should definitely try it.

 

Twitter sucks ... most of it is spam. Unless you get real people who follow and use it on a daily bases.


Facebook is good because people use it daily. To start out add a like button on your website. Also ask you friends to like it. Just mass send out a recommendation.

Also I have used facebook ads before and it has worked out well for me.

That's a good move but make sure to have a lot of followers in twitter, lot of friends in facebook and as well participate the forum regularly and make sure that your contribution is helpful and interesting.

 

They're both great because the concept of a forum and a social network is similar, I.E people who are loyal to the site and come back every time

 

Facebook is good to promote the forum but you have to create the fan page and increase fans in it and you will get the good benefit from it.

 

I also really will like to know if someone is doing it right. Because I'm also getting next to 0 traffic...

 

i think facebook is better than twitter in terms of promoting a forum, you can simply add a facebook like box and interact with those people on your fanpage.

 

I think Facebook and seo forums where you can get traffic for your forum.

Participate in Seo groups in Facebook and in Seo forums.

Ask members to review your forum and become a member of it.

Although it is a slow process, but eventually it will succeed.

 

Yeah I suppose it is all slow building, but over time...I mean if you get 3 followers a day on Twitter regularly, then in the space of a year you have over 1,000 etc

 

I think Facebook is good promoter like a Twitter.

 

facebook & twitter are very good social networking sites but forum promotion is not a good choice here.

 

I think they are good , only maybe someone has their own prefermance . like me , i like facebook and forum more .

 

For brand promotion or be your website FB is a much more stronger application compared to Twitter and much more widely used as well.
