I have 2 hosting accounts, 1 of them is hostgator baby croc, when I upload a file onto hostgator to overwrite an older file, no changes were seen!

The tech support mention something about changes can only be seen after 48 hours! There was a folder which I uploaded, after 1 week, there's still no changes!

My goodness, I edited my salesletter & I have to start my promotion asap!

Have any of you experienced the same thing?

Try deleting the old file then uploading the new one.

If your using the standard FTP, make sure that your uploading over the files using the same user name that you uplaoded them the first time with, you can also try deleting the old files and reuploading them.

If Hostgator use Ensim Panel, you need to go throught it to manually clear the internal cache, that is why it take hours to clear it out if the server is setup that way.

Although some versions of Plesk have this same behaviour

    - Check that you are not uploading in wrong folder "http" & "https" both are different

    - Any website changes are reflected immediately

    - Domain Name Server some time takes time of 0-24-48 hrs but in your case i am sure name server are ok, also mentioned to HG Support that it is not name server transfer it is website changes

    - optionally you can check VIA IP that HG provides , You can check your intial mail , it may have link also how to get started , you may refer to that as well

If you used FTP to upload at first, then try also alternatively to upload directly via File Manager in Control Panel.

Are you uploading your home page? If yes, check the order of priority of index files

I second using File Manager instead of FTP to overwrite a single file. I do it periodically, and everything always seems to go through right away. I'm using the same hosting package as you are right now, so I don't know why you'd have a problem with it showing if I don't. Good luck.

I have some hostgator accounts and have had no issues. I would suggest ctrl&F5 to refresh and/or clear your cache.

Some FTP programs default to not overwrite an existing file. You need to change that in the settings.

Hi. I did instant chat with HG twice today. They were there immediately and very helpful. Not sure what your problem is, but all changes you make to your site that are successfully uploaded should show up immediately with them, just as when you update any file... I would take all advice above and also try getting help from them again.

I have a hostgator dedicated server and have had no problems. Support response time has been excellent. I think everyone one else has given you a solution to try. Did any work?

In my office I can't see the updated version, when I get home I see the updated version?

I send the URL to a few of my associates, some see the updated version, some see the non-updated version! That's weird!

Is it true that not all webhost updates the newly uploaded files instantly?
