Fitness club software - any recommendations of what you may have used?

Mother-in-law is starting a fitness club for ladies, she is actually taking over one, but not the franchise, so she needs software to run it. It is a small facility.

Anyone ever use any specific software and have recommendations?

    Thanks for any input.

I did some IT contract work for a local gym that used FirmPOS- it seemed like an ok point-of-sale and membership management system for gyms and health clubs. (no affiliation)

I don't think I'm allowed to post a commercial link, so just Google it- its the first result. Any specialized POS system is going to be expensive, but at least Firm has a trial so you can try it out and 3 levels of service.

Thats the only one I've ever had any experience with, but there are quite a few in Google.

For a small facility I don't see why a good excel sheet or access datbase wouldn't suffice.

Thank you for the comments so far, I will search for firmpos and see what that has.

As far as excel, etc... She needs to have a book keeping program along with a membership system. They are not very good with computers to start with so nothing complex.

For bookeeping, it is almost impossible to beat QuickBooks.
