Fog free mirrors.

My wife was watching some show last night and she learnt that if you wipe down the bathroom mirror with shaving cream it will not fog up when you shower.

I just got out of the shower and it does work very well. It's supposed to last either a couple of weeks or a couple of months, I never listened to my wife that carefully.

You rub it into the mirror with a dry cloth and it will disappear, actually cleans the mirror nicely as well. You don't have to use that much either, 1/2 of what you use to shave will do.

What happens if I use my razor to clean the white stuff off of the mirror. (flashes back to 1983)

No, the fan nor the window is the solution. You have to tackle the root of the problem. Condensation forms when there's a temperature difference. Warm moist air touches your cold mirror and condensates into little drops.

Solution: Prior to taking a shower (or permanently) turn up the heat in your bathroom to at least or over the shower water temperature.

Or get heated mirrors. Or don't shower.

Here's another interesting thing I learned from having a beat up Volkswagen Beetle in high school with broken windshield wipers:

If you rub a potato on the windshield, the rain will not spot up on it. Wierd, but it works.

spit works just as well. I figured if you spit into a diving mask to keep it from fogging up, it would do the same on a mirror. Guess what? Of course, I'm only talking about a mirror that's actually in the shower, not the one over the sink. :p

You can also use toothpaste or just use plain ol' soap.
