    I searching for forum software for my anime site with about 3-4k UV/day.

    Is there any free option? (safe) or may the only choice is Vbulettin?

    + i need one custom anime theme.

    I use Invision although prefer VB.

    Thankd for replay. What about ad integration? It is hard to interate ads to Vbulletin? For example like here like this on DP.

    I don't know what's PHPBB3's performance, but PHPBB2 was a resource hog. PunBB on the other hand is a not so feature rich but very light forum script. I heard some good things about SMF too..

    Phpbb3 / SMF are the best free forum scripts.

    But the commercial ones are a lot better, VB is 3.7.0 is great !
