Free Image Compression Software?

Discussion in 'Photoshop' started by NewshotDCB, Jul 21, 2007.

My site, newshotstudio.com, loads slowly because my images are too big. I need to compress them without ruining them.

I downloaded a program that compresses images, but it replaced the transparent places with the color white. I tried using paint.net, but it didn't decrease my size.

    Anyone have any recommendations?

For quick easy painless resizing with no learning curve use pixresizer. It is free.

That sounds like an image re-sizer and not an image compressor. I am looking for a program that takes an image and makes the file size smaller without really changing the visual appearance of an image.

It does both or either quite well. For compression only you leave the size the same and set the compression level where you want it. This is an example of what it can do: http://imagegenie.net/art/compression.html

    Pardon the broke header.
