Free PR7/6 link - guess how many Christmas Lights I'll do in 2005.

Everybody had a lotta fun with the guess how many Halloween Lights contest ... so I figured it would be fun to do it for Christmas also. I actually had to give away two links because I initially miscounted ... but I promise to do a better job this time. BTW, the winners of that contest were girl and mopacfan - PM them if you have any doubts on the validity of this contest.

Some data to help you in your guess. First, Christmas is a bigger deal for me than Halloween - there are 7,000+ lights out there now. BTW, per a request from UK folks for Guy Hawkes day, the halloween webcam is up until November 5th - check it out! The number of lights I have had for Christmas in previous years is: 2000-12,000, 2001-16,000, 2002-22,000, 2003-3,500 ("Burnt Out"), and 2004-17,000. I have a 200-Amp main breaker panel which sets an ultimate upper limit of about 60,000 lights ... although maybe I'll just run long extension cords to the neighbor's house, heh-heh.

Here's what is planned for christmas 2005 ... and remember there was a a bit of hoopala last year ... but the christmas lights webcam is "real" this year ... although you are certainly justified in being skeptical ... ;-)

I try to do something different with the light displays each year, but I suspect it will be similar in magnitude to last year ... I never really know until I start tossing 'em out there. The controllable inflateables are a new things this year - people had so much fun trying to "KILL Frankenstein" that rest assured "something" will be there for Christmas for your entertainment.

BTW, Google has me on the first page for "Christmas Lights", but it would sure be cool to be #1! ;-)

Fine Print: Deadline for guesses is midnight on Thanksgiving ... although I might extend that a few days if I get behind schedule. Link will be placed on Hulk's Page (currently PR6, was PR7 before last update) and MUST be family friendly - i.e. drugs, gambling, etc. won't work - stuff like real estate might be acceptable if not tacky. Link will go up after a winner is declared (and an acceptable link/anchor-text comes from them) and that same link (no, I'm not going to change it every week for 'ya) will stay up through New Years Day. Answers must be posted in this thread and you only need to say a number - and lets say no more than 3 guesses per person. In case of a tie, person who guessed first wins ... although funny posts will help you out. No entry fee and no link exchange required/requested - you just gotta be a member of DP and post your best guess(es) here. My decision is final - no whining - it's just a fun contest, allright.
