Some good guesses. I mentioned that "funny posts will help you out" and I'd say folks who have gotten whatever bonus that entails so far are:

lorien197: 19,437. 1 will be burnt out, causing the other 19,436 to not light and it'll take 3 days to figure out which one it is (which I certainly hope does NOT happen ... and I appreciate the "finance offer," but donate it to charity instead)

Solicitors Mortgages: 30,000... anything less and it just isn't christmas. !! (I like that attitude!)

digimania: 3 christmas linghts; I am good at guessing. (I assure you this guess will be VERY VERY low)

Hodgeup: Ok here's my first guess Chevy Chase. 23,487 (Another good attitude ... although you would have gotten a double bonus if you had worked Clark Griswold in there! ;-)

I still have not seen a guess limit, if there is not a limit I'll take all available numbers between 0 and 100,000.

What we need is the size of the house, then we can take the average distance between 2 bulbs on a cord of lights and assume that same difference between each cord on the roof make a more intelligent guess :)

lorien1973: Swing by the hallowen webcam in a couple of hours and you can view it all yourself.

palespyder: bonus points for the 2^N and PI guesses ...

Yeah you have to be creative with describing "s- e- x" when you have children.

lorien1973: Yea, it's almost "better" when there aren't a 100+ people on it at once, since you have a decent chance of your command going through and seeing the results a frame or two later. Glad you enjoyed it - as mentioned, I'm leaving it up through November 5th for Guy Fawkes day (UK holiday), but going down after that.

Hodgeup: I'm a family man, so keep it clean when it comes to my holiday lights webcam ... but having said that, your comment was pretty funny ... ;-)

FYI: Shoemoney has a fun DP Challenge thread where he offers to donate $1,000 to DP's favorite charity. I upped the ante a bit on page 5 (post #41) that could result in a doubling of that donation. Check out what Shoe is up to and consider supporting his effort - it's pretty funny.

And as an update to folks for my "free link if you can guess my lights thread", I have stored away my Halloween stuff and have ALL of the Christmas stuff out from my basement crawl space. Here is what it looked like last year with SOME of the stuff along with Santa's Helpers (my folks, plus brother and my kids) visited to help with the setup ... and they are coming out again for Thanksgiving ... so stay tuned. I'll add that the "watch out Clark Griswold!" comment on my christmas page is a hint on how many lights I plan to put up ... ;-)

Here's an update for you guys - about 5,000 lights out there now ... and a LOT more coming. Weather forecast is good and my folks are coming in for Thanksgiving ... so they should go up fast ... get your guesses in for that free link! ;-)

    45,002 counting the porch lights.

Breaker can handle 60,000 ...Alek needs to outdo himself next time so I think that's about right. :)

I think this year you´re gonna keep it sober, with the high energy prizes...
    17 lamps of which 2 won´t work.

so 15 working and 2 non working.
