Okey for those who don't know I am 16, and I am leaving school in 3 weeks (England is not the same as the United States, we leave at 16). Anyhow I am having to start working so I can give my nan (who I live with) some money to pay for the general stuff like electric ect, anyhow how well do you guys mix both Webmastering & real work. I know some do just Webmastering (** Shakes fist**) but I don't think my income is sure enough to do that myself.

If I were you I'd try to get a part time job. You are still living at home so with a part time job you can cover some expenses at least. This gives you the opportunity to work hard on your sites and you can try to make a go of that.

Once you are living by yourself (and have kids) like me that is no longer an option and webmastering becomes something you do late at night and in the weekends.

Going to university would also be a good option in your case.

    just my 2 cents ;)

University would be great, but my stupid addiction fecked up my school life (I mean I went 2 or so days without sleep as I did not want to waste the night sleeping when I could be making that idea thats been stuck in my mind), so in turn I will be getting crap grades, so college \ uni is yeah. Out of the plan. I mean it's a shame that the UK does not have any GOOD point of IT, right now if I tryied to get a job in something like a webdesign company they would basicly need them small grades, despite me knowing it. And to do a web design corse I need Maths and England C or above.

Well best to work on your webmastering then. Once you can show a webdesign company a decent portfolio of sites they will not care about your grades.

    I disagree.
I don't know why you would leave school and get a job at 16?
Go to a college, find an IT course or whatever you're into (I'm doing business btec) and explain to them why you got such bad results in your GCSEs as it's up to the discretion of the course leader as to whether you'll get onto the course or not. They will however, make you redo your Maths or English GCSE if they're below grade C. Luckily I got A's in my GCSEs so I didn't need to redo anything, but as I'm in a college I come in contact with dumb people all the time, some who flopped every GCSE they've ever taken.

Also, I get EMA as my parents earn under £20k/year or something, which means £30 a week, just I can't be bothered to collect it as I always forget to get it signed. But I'd imagine this would be enough for you to pay your bills.

The sweetest thing is that I hardly spend any time doing work, the only reason I go to college is I need something to get me out of bed in the mornings or I get lazy. I went from doing 35 hours/week at school to doing about 15 hours/week at college.
