If he hasn't paid you one single dime, get all the articles and publish them under your name. This way, you can build your portfolio and increase your online value as a freelance writer.

Or sell them.

If you have Copyscape credits to spare, scan all your articles, find them, and email or contact the website owner where you found your articles. Inform them that you have all the copyrights to your work since you haven't been paid. The website owner who commissioned the work to someone else will definitely take action (in many of my unpaid cases, they did).

The OP--yes, this very one who did not pay you--will probably never get business from his clients again.

As writers working in an environment where accountability is practically nil, we should all be responsible in taking care of our business, and protecting our work and our rights.

We can all rant and rave, and get nothing but message count increase, OR we can take action and take these cretins down.

Just before everybody moves off this, and as I'm not going to get paid anyway, let me tell you what kind of employer this dude is.

He complained to me about several things over the 1-2 days I was writing for him, including telling me that my articles looked silly because some of them only had 2-3 sentences per paragraph (they were short and specific news articles)! He had another writer working for him who wasn't even native English and couldn't use proper sentence structure, so I really don't know what he was criticising.

His complaining got to such a level that, at one point, I even asked him if he had an issue with the colour of my eyes.

 

Oh, and in response to therealargo, I'm quite certain it's his own website.
