I gave up with dig as I got riped when I added one thing and then some one said it was spam and they banned me and my site, so that just told me the website is full of sad people.

People have tried this before and they got banned rather fast. It is very easy to find the people trying to cheat the system. One Digg enginner can just signup on the mailing list and collect account names and sites that are participating. Also, some Digg users could sign up and burry the emailed stories as spam; there are many Digg fanatics protecting the site.

    However, good luck!

What if the system was based on a invite-only basis?

In that case, you probably would not advertise it on this forum. You can do anything if you know and trust enough people but how can you trust someone that you only know online?

Nice idea, but I'd be wary considering this basically follows the footsteps of SpikeTheVote.com.

I don't think I'm risking it. Maybe for Reddit/Delicious/and such, but Digg? They're pretty hardline on this issue.

Yes, I'm for this consept/"project" with my both hands. It is not a mistery that people who unite are better than others.

Just to add, I'm new to this forum and after visiting it for a few days, I realised it's a good stop for me. I really want to help with the dugg effect :).

Well in their case it was sold by the owner. So there's no real way to tell if a 'Digg Gaming Service' got big that if Digg made a huge offer to buy them out whether they'd take it & hand over the members profiles or decline it.

If you're planning to use anything like this, do yourself a favour & create new accounts.

This seems kind of black hat to me. IMHO you need to improve on the concept in the following way and simultaneously end all concerns with the DIGG mods (again IMHO):

If the lot of your group votes up obvious spam, you will be tracked, found out and either collectively banned or otherwise have many in your group on the watch list.

If, on the other hand your group becomes a Digg fan site, it could only be flattering to Digg. What you could do then is VOTE WITHIN FIRST on you favorite content. One of my favorite forums ever is www.newgrounds.com (Universally understood as either THE BEST or one of the best flash content hubs online).

They let their users vote on their favorite flash movies and games. The owners and mods then list the staff favorites along with the fan favs and the cream of the crop is listed on the front page, where any flash developers will get MASSIVE exposure from that awesome site.

You should do the same thing. Let your staff and group vote FIRST on the best of the best. Then post your own Digg recommendations on your fan site and list them on the front page as "recommended to digg"; Then, of course you encourage your members to digg them.

This will insure greater quality control and Digg is less likely IMHO to zap you or censure you for the practice of essentially unfairly letting your inside group's content have favorable placement over more deserving content providers with far fewer contacts.

    i guess its simple
if you like the idea, join it, if you don't, then either suggest something better or just do not comment.

There isn't a need of as sadist people here as there are on Digg.

Honestly this is just a plain bad/dumb idea

First of all, it has been done multiple times and has failed each time. There are even services available where you can buy diggs for $1.

Second, it isn't that difficult to make main page on Digg all you need is something that is worth reading, honestly.

Thirdly, Digg is already onto you, and this thread cementes someone who is up and up at Digg has already reported.

Fourthly, the Digg effect isn't all that great, I have multiple stories hit main page, and I had gotten 10,000 uniques that day which isn't that big of a deal.

There are a lot better things that you can do with your time. Quality content will equate to quality results. Link bait and Link ninja.

Why will someone buy diggs for $ 1 when can do for free this way ?

Second, i don't think its that easy to make to digg first page. If you have done it many a times, you are simply amazing and you should share some tips with members on this board :D
