What you guys do to keep motivated when you loose your focus and maybe get depressed.

I'm still learning the hangs of this, making around 6 bucks a day on my internet ventures, But sometimes I loose motivations, specially I have an issue that I think I'm not good enough for this (or other stuff for the matter).

A big issue i have right now is that my jobs is totally unapealing, I basically don't do anything or just boring task and not may oportunities come up n my area, but I need to pay my bills . Also I big let down today was that I just got notice that I wasn't selected for a new position i have been waiting for a while, I know I was the most qualified (specialy given the person they selected) but i guess I was officially screwed over.

    sorry for the rant...

Personally, work keeps me from getting depressed. Its settling for me because it keeps my mind busy and challenged so I dont have the idle time to think badly. There are my days though. So if your anything like me, just keep yourself really busy.... but dont overbook yourself because people get angry! lol

Have you considered a career change if your not enjoying the job your at now? Ultimately if you dont, its not worth how miserable you can be. And if you think you might get depression, do you want to go down the road?

Tell me more about the person they selected. I am curious.
In the corporate world its not really about who is best at the job but what piece of paper you have and how good you are at talking your self up. You'd be suprised how many people get promoted for having the right Certification (Especially oracle) when they have alot less experience.

Anyway I'm doing worse than you but I always try find new and very different ways of trying to increase profits. That and some Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy or whatever "magical" junk I can get my hands on. Tony Robbins kind of makes me feel like sucess is just around the corner.

Aim to work for yourself and think of your "regular" job as just a short-term aid to pay the bills. Why pour heart and soul to make somebody else rich?

You can look at it in two ways, according to Sheryl Crow:

If it makes you happy, it can't be that bad.
If it makes you happy, then why the hell are you so sad?

    hi there,
well, if you really like and love your job you will not let depression to loose your motivation in doing your work, you should always treat the load of your work as if you are only doing your daily habbits/hobbies.
to be motivated let you here your favorite musics while doing your work, or rest for a couple of minute, stretch out, inhale some freash air.

hope you will feel better now. ;)

well...if i am depressed, down & lonely, i try to listen to good music that would turn my mood back again. some coffee will help also. sometimes i would just take a break and watch my favorite movie in my dvd. I play my guitar too, to keep me singing and that would bring me back on track.

The ads coming up in this thread says you should think of a career change, all about jobs. I do have the same problem you have, so much I know I should/could do but no motivation at all.
