Given the chance, would you change any decisions you've made in life

I think it would be interesting to see what others think on this topic. A lot of people have regrets and wish they had made different decisions in life. If you could go back and change a specific choice you made, would you?

Or do you feel everything happens for a reason and you wouldn't be where you are now? Are you totally at peace with your decisions and where you are now?

If given a second chance I wouldn't have moved in with my boyfriend 9 years ago but then I may not have ever learned web design, which I now love. I may not have ever gone near a computer. Have only been using one for 5 years now. But at the same time, I wouldn't know what I was missing.

Anyone else have a specific event they wish they handled differently or are you happy with your decisions? I would find it interesting to see how others feel.

If I could go back in time I would have :
    - registered a bunch of domain names back when I first had internet in 1995
    - started making sites for my own instead of for clients back in 2001 when I had my webdesign company.
    - Adding people profiles with affiliate links to adultfriendfinder into google base 2 months ago :) It's too late now ...

But then again money isn't everything. The most important thing right now in my life is my 2 month old baby boy.

Great answers and congrats on the new baby, that's so sweet. ;)

btw, you have me thinking I should be putting up the 10 sites of mine I have waiting and to forget the clients, hehe.

Yeah working for clients is a drag. Especially the non-computer types. You try to explain everything as best as possible and define the goals as clearly as possible and then they change their mind and ask for a feature that requires a full redesign. grrr

I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore. 8)

Yeah, I would've waited 2 years before studying computers, and gotten into the internet at the end of the 1980's just before it turned into the world wide web.

    What I Would Have Done:
-Taken out a loan for $100,000 and bought several thousand shares of Google stock when it was still valued at $4. That would have gotten 25,000 shares, which I would have sold last week then they hit $400/share and walked away with just under $10 million after repaying the bank.
-Done the same as above for Apple and Dell stock.

    What I Would Change:
-I wouldn't have gone to college/university. Rather than waste 6 years of my life studying and only working on a very part-time basis, I would have spent my time working on minimum wage at McDonalds for a few months while I built up a network of websites.
-I wouldn't be doing client work. I would focus exclusively on my own websites.
-I wouldn't have blown all that money on slurpees and junk food when I was in high school, I would have invested it or used it to build my business.

I have alot of other things I would change, but those are what comes off the top of my head.

Well..... their are bad decisions and regrets... The bad decisions i would not change because that is the only way to be better as a person and business man. However i do have a regret that i would truly give everything up that i have today to go back and change. That also has made me a better person (I hope)

And that's all your getting out of me :)

I would sleep with that model last year
I would not have started smoking
I would not have dropped ICT
I would have concentrated more on college work instead of socializing
I would have started playing pool earlier

Oh and that fish iv lost when i was around 6. The biggest pike i have ever seen. I landed it on the ground but then i was too scared to grab it and it just rolled back into the lake. That was bugging me for years. I would have grabbed it... he he

I would of started making a lot of sites back in 1996, instead of waiting until after the .com crash to make around 95% of them.
I would of looked for affiliate programs/webmaster message boards in 1996 instead of not even knowing they existed until late 1999.
I would of never released a certian hack to a certian script, to keep from generating a billion clones from competition.
I would learn perl and make an ebay script as soon as I found out about there affiliate program.
    I wouldn't wait until 1999 to become a wacko!!!
I would make www.milliondollarhomepage.com a month before that dude came up with da idea!! Support a wacko, own a piece of internet history!! :D

I've made a lot of wrong decisions in the past but i don't know if i'd be who I am right now if it weren't for those decisions. I have a lot of regrets but there's no use crying over spilled milk right? and the best I could do is learn from those mistakes and make things better for me. Hehe, you won't get anything specific from me :p

only the fact that of all the things that has happened the most I'm NOT regretful of is I'm having my baby even if I'm still "too young" in the eyes of other people. :)

Like a lot of folks here, wish I had gotten started with websites earlier. Wish I had looked at condo prices vs. rent when my husband and I first married - we could have just barely done it, but now the prices have gone up too much, especially since we need room for a family of 4 now.
